Effective Project Management is Key to Your Success
Congratulations
You have just won the big project! So now what? I believe that Effective Project Management is Key to Your Success. Once the bid is won, your work isn’t finished. Now it’s time to put on your other hat, and position yourself for a successful project.
Position Yourself for Success through Effective Project Management
Effective Project Management is Key to Your Success in other ways also. I will discuss how you can better protect yourself legally, as well as operationally. One of the best tools to take advantage of is the Pre-construction or Pre-painting meeting. This is where you can set the tone for a positive relationship. It too is the time you can position your team to succeed, and I will show you how this can be accomplished. We will go over many common sense items, and several things that are not so obvious.
Paint Contracting and Estimating
Also covered in my book Paint Contracting and Estimating is the submittal process, purchasing materials, housekeeping, scheduling considerations and more.
Effective Project Management is Key to Your Success
Many key steps in this process arecovered in detail, from supervision to Change Orders, Tracking Sheets and Field Budgets, mid-course corrections, damage control, communication, billings, Job Costing and more. Job closeouts, debriefing your crew, performance evaluation and follow up are covered as well. As I said above, Effective Project Management is key to your success, and often makes the difference between a business that prospers and one that fails. Having the right personnel in place also pays dividends for your operations. Such staff are key to your success and pivotal in setting your company apart from your competition. As your operations grow, it becomes clear that one person cannot do it all. Take advantage of training and mentoring to build the crew that will be crucial to your Effective Project Management.
Great website and blog Lynn!
I’m sorry, but you haven’t said where these items will be covered ? Is it in a book, or cd ? Interested but you haven’t said much past talking about the pre painting meeting.
Send me an email if you get a chance. I would like some more information because I have just won my first “big project” as you say and looking for some guidance on the next steps to take. Also wondering if your products would have relevance in Canada.
Cheers
